Open joint stock company "Ceramics", Vitebsk - one of the oldest enterprises of Belarus. The first mention of brick factories located on the territory of Vitebsk, refer to the beginning of the 19th century (archival documents "of the office of the civil Governor of Vitebsk"). Factories at that time belonged to private owners, worked seasonal, the number of workers did not exceed 150 people. The plant merchant Rosenfeld (1837) had 1 furnace, 15 employees and produced in 1838 220 thousand bricks, to the amount of 55,000 rubles
